Green Finance Academy Masterclass

Fully booked Masterclass. Application is closed.

Attracting funding for your environmental or development project is always a challenge. But as public funds are dwindling, opportunities from private capital are on the rise. Banks, impacts funds and other financiers and are increasingly showing interest in financing projects that, in addition to generating a financial return, provide environmental, social and developmental benefits. Tap into these new sources of investment.

The Green Finance Academy offers a five day masterclass to prepare environmental and development professionals for this task. The masterclass helps you to become the expert on bankable projects in your organisation and provides you the tools to design projects that not only meet your project goals, but also generate financial returns for investors. Through interactive sessions with a hands-on mentality you will be trained to transform current projects into bankable projects or design new bankable projects. You will be mentored by professionals and experts in business development, private sector finance, ecosystem services  -and climate change. During the course you will be challenged to apply business model thinking to your real-life project. After five days, you will have the skills and knowledge necessary to persuade new investors to financially support your bankable project.

The Green Finance Academy is a partnership between IUCN NL, Wageningen University & Research, and Nyenrode Business Universiteit. It aims to facilitate cooperation between all three domains in society that are taking up the environmental challenge: the ecosystem service community, the financial sector, and the public sector. The GFA is dedicated to offer tailor-made courses for this purpose.
